Day 31

Long, long day at work so a 11 minute run when I got back. V cold, so glad of beanie to keep me warm. Cannot quite believe that I have run every day for a whole month but I have - Yeh! Now 3 times a week should be easy.

Monday 30 January 2012

Day 30

4o minutes in the cold round the 3 mile Hillside route. Jackie not well at all so all on my own and missing my Monday companion.

Day 29

A shorter 10 minute run, no getting lost this time as followed the route we came down yesterday. It led to a train stop one stop from ours but the train took us all the way round the Parc before coming back to our stop. Doh!

Day 28

Centre Parcs Longleat with Mandy, Amy and three other teenage girls. Went out for 20 mins. That long because got lost (again). Lovely setting.

Friday 27 January 2012

Day 27

Car problems meant no run with Olivia, so forced to go on my own for a trip round a bit of Morden Hall Park. Lovely, not too isolated and almost like being in the country.  May have got a bit fitter but my legs are feeling it, cannot face any runs longer than about 20 minutes at the moment.

Thursday 26 January 2012

Day 26

15 minutes around Merton Park. Some very lovely houses in the North, and the John Innes Park.  I do like this area. I am not going out for very long but have a feeling that I am covering more ground in the time.Still not bounding along like a gazelle but that was wishful thinking.

Wednesday 25 January 2012

Day 25

Nice 19 minute run with Jackie. It is much easier and nicer to run with a friend. Planning to keep this up 3 or 4 times a week when January over.

Tuesday 24 January 2012

Day 24

Worst yet. 7 mins round the block after a long, long day. Still, did it and pleased that I managed to get out.

Monday 23 January 2012

Day 23

17 minute run with Jackie.  Cannot believe that I have run every single day this year.  Short and sweet is the answer because a run can be just 5 mins and that can be fitted in somewhere during the day.

Sunday 22 January 2012

Day 22

Ran around Wicksteed Park. Only about 15 mins.  Hard work - I don't think masses of chinese food and a few glasses of wine the night before helped my speed or enthusiasm.

Saturday 21 January 2012

Day 21

A 10 min run around Poplar Park today. I meant to go further but could not work up the energy. Saw two balls of mistletoe in a tree and one robin, otherwise a bit of a slog.

Thursday 19 January 2012

Day 20

10 minute run completed. Out at 7.20.  I cannot ever remember doing that before but, like a lot of early morning things, it went by in a haze and is already a distant memory. No observations about life or the environment as half asleep as I jogged round.

Day 19

12 mins squeezed in before a Domino's pizza delivery! In any other circumstances I would have just cut the run given the cold and the dark but the Janathon just does not give you that option.

Day 18

Learnt two things on today's run with Jackie.  One - do not trust Jackie's route. Very good on distance but not so good on number of hills. Two - a lady in a leoparskin hat, a handbag and non running shoes overtook us, so we must be slow.

Great run - 34 minutes, with chat to take my mind off things and no frozen fingers.

Tuesday 17 January 2012

Day 17

Exhausted. Late night getting back from collecting Guy from Gatwick, long day at work and cold weather. 10 mins from work to Embankment.

Monday 16 January 2012

Day 16

22 minute run with Jackie up and down the hills of Morden. Very cold and a bit icy.  Talked about "The Killing" and our planned viewing schedule.  Yeh, woolly jumpers here we come.

Sunday 15 January 2012

Day 15

Not a very early start but a cold and frosty run around the block with Steve, Andy and Helen.  Very dynamic considering the late night we had. Lovely walk afterwards too, and a bit of cycling by Helen earlier on who went out to get yummy stuff for breakfast.

Saturday 14 January 2012

Day 14

25 mins around Woluwe Park with Helen.  Lovely clear, cold day. Lots of dog walkers and a few hills.Great, better than I expected after a few Maes the night before.

Friday 13 January 2012

Day 13

Lovely day, sun and a bit of frost on Wimbledon Common. Olivia and I did our usual 3 mile route in 40 minutes - neither of us felt terribly dynamic. Still, as the song goes "things can only get bettter ..."

Day 12

Late run in the dark. 20 minutes and not too bad.

Wednesday 11 January 2012

Day 11

Crammed a 15 min run in between dropping here, cooking, washing, collecting there and, oh yes, working too.  Not a great run, rather mild compared with other days so a silly baseball cap instead of a beanie but new trackie bottoms. Pineapple sale, blue, long - just right!

Tuesday 10 January 2012

Day 10

Finished work and took a roundabout run to Waterloo - Embankment, bridge next to railway line and past the London Eye. Great views, 15 min run and no energy.

Monday 9 January 2012

Day 9

Evening run around the rolling landscape of Morden with Jackie who was sporting a Jude Law hat.  Over 20 mins, and not at all boring thanks to running with a mate.

Sunday 8 January 2012

Day 8

A lovely evening out with family in Ash, too much red wine, and a fantastic film  at lunchtime ( "The Artist") did not put me in the frame of mind for a run, but all this running must be doing some good as the 15 min run was easy.

Saturday 7 January 2012

Day 7

Not a great run.  Less than 15 minutes but I did something for the first time ever, despite visiting many times - I ran around the Old Ruts playing field. I even managed to take a photograph of the pavilion but now have no idea how to download it as seem to have no kit in my recently acquired cheap phone pack.

Friday 6 January 2012

Day 6

Lovely run on Wimbledon Common with Olivia. About 38 mins so better than our last outing. Blue sky and sun - wonderful.

Thursday 5 January 2012

Day 5

A huge effort to get out of the door and then 25 mins spent running up and down the rolling hills of Morden.  Another unflattering hat today but at least I was warm. Not getting any easier.

Wednesday 4 January 2012

Day 4

Dressed for a run all day but only got out about 5.20 to gentle rain.  I thought I would feel better every day, in fact it is the other way and just about managed 15 mins today at a snail's pace.  Oh well, only 27 days to go.

I am going to start planning my running routes using http://www.walkjogrun.net/  Well worth a try as you put your start point in and then plot a route, getting the distance and gradients as you go.

Tuesday 3 January 2012

Day 3

Ran with Jackie S.  Not sure we did enough to counter the packet of soft strawberry liqourish I ate whilst watching the second Sherlock Holmes film this afternoon. If this was not one of my resolutions I would not have gone today.

Monday 2 January 2012

Janathon - Days 1 and 2

I have run about 45 mins so far and have spent about twice that time trying to sort out a blog.  I think I have just about managed that now so I can concentrate on blogging about the highs and lows of running every day. Thank you Jackie - another great idea for a resolution and a little more active than crochet.
